TVT Honoring those who served mural finds permanent home at FLPD Headquarters

Today, we proudly dedicated a new mural at the brand new Fort Lauderdale Police Department headquarters, a recently completed facility being dedicated this summer.

Created by renowned artist Dean Davis, the mural was originally unveiled and on display at the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport Terminal in 2025. When airport construction required its removal, the piece was carefully placed in storage until a new permanent home was selected at the Fort Lauderdale Police Department’s new headquarters.

The dedication ceremony was attended by Lee Hediger, Chairman and Founder of the Veterans Trust; Alli Morgan, Veterans Trust Executive Director; Stephen Moss, Mission United Founding Chair and TVT Board Member; and the artist himself, Dean Davis. Additional distinguished guests included Lois Marino, Executive Director of BBX Capital Foundation; Ben Sorensen, Retired Navy and Vice Mayor of Fort Lauderdale; Jack Glottmann, Chairman of Saglo Companies; William C. Schultz, Chief of Police, FLPD; James Heaton, Vice President of United Way of Broward County’s MISSION UNITED; and Kathleen Cannon, CEO and President of United Way of Broward County. The event was also attended by other local officials and representatives of the Fort Lauderdale Police Department.

Supported by the Veterans Trust Foundation, this powerful artwork is part of the Key to Service initiative. It highlights the dedication of our veterans, first responders, healthcare professionals, and the communities they protect.
